Life After Trek Podcast Episode 25 Featuring Larry Nemecek

We’re pleased to announce the 25th episode of our “Life After Trek” podcast. In this episode we're featuring an interview with "Star Trek Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library" Author Larry Nemecek. Larry's new book is available for pre-order from Amazon and will be available for sale December 3rd at bookstores everywhere.

Of course many of you out there know Larry from his many other works including "Star Trek: The Next Generation Companion", The Con of Wrath, hundreds of Trek interviews featured in Trekland on Speaker, his personal site Treklandblog.com, numerous convention appearances, and pretty much every aspect of Star Trek from TNG onward.

2013 has proven to be an extraordinary year for Larry. Not only has he been writing another great technical Trek book, he's also starred as Dr. Leonard McCoy in Star Trek Continues, shot tons of footage for The Con of Wrath, and started his brand new venture The Trekland Trunk.

Star Trek Continues is one of the best fan series we've seen and not only includes Larry as Bones, but also features Vic Mignogna as Captain James T. Kirk, and Chris Doohan reprising his father's role as Scotty. In fact, Star Trek Continues will resume filming its second episode shortly and is looking for help to continue the saga via Kickstarter.

Ever want to get your hands on truly unique Trek collectibles? Then check out The Trekland Trunk. Larry has digitized much of his Trek collection from years past and is looking for good homes for these collected gems. You can "like" the page to stay informed of when some of his Trek memorabilia will be available for auction.

Be sure to check out Larry's home page Treklandblog.com for all things Trekland and pre-order his brand new book Star Trek Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library from Amazon.

Life After Trek Podcast Episode 24 Featuring Dan Madsen

We’re pleased to announce episode 24 of our “Life After Trek” podcast featuring Dan Madsen. Dan is know for forming the first official Star Trek fan club, creating Star Trek Communicator Magazine, and running the official Lucasfilm Fan Club for nearly 20 years, just to name a few. Being a longtime fan of Star Trek, starting with TOS syndication in the 70s, Dan started his jaunt into the fan club scene with a small ad in Starlog Magazine in 1979. The fan club grew with leaps and bounds until 1982 when he was approached by Paramount to head the first officially licensed Star Trek fan club. Dan has been a major force in Trekdom for over 30 years and has continued his work today with the extremely popular Her Universe clothing and collectibles company

We had an amazing time talking to Dan and reliving his journey through both Star Trek and Star Wars fandom. To be honest, there's too much to fit in just one episode. Hopefully we can have him back in the very near future. This is a gem of an episode that you don't want to miss.

Life After Trek Podcast Episode 23 Featuring Huston Huddleston - Enterprise-D Restoration Project

We’re pleased to announce episode 23 of our “Life After Trek” podcast, Huston Huddleston of the Enterprise-D Bridge Restoration Project. Many of you may know of the Kickstarter funded project that met it's full funding targets, and then some, last year. We got the chance to meet Huston at the Austin Comic Con last November and were so stoked about the project that had to get an interview for Life After Trek.

For those who don't know about the Enterprise-D Restoration Project; is an ongoing project to entirely restore an official Star Trek Next Generation Enterprise Bridge set that Paramount created in the late 1990s to be used for display, after the ORIGINAL TV Set was COMPLETELY DESTROYED in the film STAR TREK:GENERATIONS. This replica set was created under the supervision of Herman Zimmerman and Michael Okuda.

We had a great time learning more about the projects origins as well as its future aspirations. If you'd like to learn more about the D Restoration and how you can get involved, be sure to check out the official website Newstarship.com

Life After Trek Podcast Episode 22 Featuring Robert O’Reilly & JG Hertzler

We’re pleased to announce episode 22 of our “Life After Trek” podcast, featuring Robert O'Reilly & J.G. Hertzler. Many of you know them as Chancellor Gowron and General / Chancellor Martok. We would like to give a special thanks to the fine folks at Starbase Indy for hooking us up with this fantastic interview. If you're in the Indianapolis are, be sure to stop by this coming weekend (November 23-25, 2012) and enjoy this fantastic fan run con. Both Bob & J.G. will be on hand in full klingon regalia for a special panel, plus other (non-forhead ridged) events for the full run of the convention.

Just to be a bit transparent, we had some technical difficulties in the recording of this episode. So, some of the interview will seem a bit disjointed and spliced together. Both J.G. & Bob were fantastic and gracious in re-recording a few parts that were lost.

During the interview, we talk about their respective times in Trek-dom as well as other projects that the duo have worked on. If you're fans of Klingons (like we are), be sure to download this episode.

Life After Trek Podcast Episode 18 “R.U.R.” Special Featuring Chase Masterson & James Kerwin

We’re pleased to announce episode 18 of our “Life After Trek” podcast, the "R U R" Special, featuring Chase Masterson & James Kerwin. Chase & James sit down with us to talk about their new film project R.U.R. & the crowd sourced "spin-off" short R.U.R.: Genesis. A play written by Karel Capek in 1919 -- and decades ahead of its time -- R.U.R. is a sharp commentary on progress, politics, and relationships, accurately predicting advances in biotechnology and setting the tone for future science fiction masterpieces like Metropolis and Blade Runner. In this retro-futuristic adaptation of the classic play (co-written & directed by James & starring Chase) R.U.R. depicts a world populated by genetically engineered workers ("artificials") — perfect, made-to-order humans who lack fundamental rights. We've loved Yesterday Was a Lie and are really looking forward to the release of this project.

In the meantime, R.U.R: Genesis is a "spin-off" short film that Chase & James are on the cusp of making and need your help to complete. Much like many other indie productions, Genesis is looking for funding from the fan community. There are several contribution levels, including one that guarentees you a walk on role. On top of that, your donations are tax deductable. If you would like to help this production get off the ground, you can contribute on the R.U.R. Indiegogo page here.
